Two blazes in a Ottawa downtown restaurant and west-end residential property kept Ottawa region firefighters busy during night and resulted in more than $400,000 in losses.
The first fire broke out shortly before 3 a.m. in the basement of a home at 12 Acro Way, near Hunt Club and Woodroffe Avenue. Luckly now occupant was injured and it firefighters were able to get the fire under contro labout an hour . Damage caused by blaze is estimated at $300,000.
Later firefighters responded to 73 Sparks Street to fight a kitchen fire at the North Restaurant Lounge. The firefighters quickly put out the fire. However, the fire still caused an estimated $100,000 in damages. The causes of both the blazes are not know and are under investigation.
